Experience trust
aluderm+ puts an end to painful plaster or dressing changes. Whether for grazes, burns, or larger injuries, aluderm+ protects, supports wound healing, does not stick to the wound, and can be removed very gently.
For decades, the aluderm+ brand has stood for particularly skin-friendly and gentle wound care.
Origin and innovation
aluderm+ technology was developed out of a desire to treat sensitive or large wounds—such as burns, abrasions, or lacerations—as gently and safely as possible.
Our development is based on a combination of:
- Aluminum-coated surface: Prevents sticking to the wound
- Soft, absorbent fleece: For high wearing comfort and effective exudate management
- Cover layer: Prevents penetration to the secondary dressing
Established in emergency medical services and first aid
Today, aluderm+ is one of the proven standard materials in many areas: from professional emergency medical services and clinics to first aid kits. Whether bandages, plasters, or compresses – aluderm+ stands for well-designed, patient-friendly wound care of the highest standard.
Quality “Made in Germany”
aluderm+ products are manufactured under the strictest quality guidelines and are regularly tested. The goal: maximum safety, high compatibility, and ease of use – wherever fast and effective help is needed.
100 years of Made in Germany
Shelf life of 20 years
When Wilhelm Söhngen started production at his dressing materials factory in Wiesbaden in June 1923, he could hardly have imagined the innovations and standards that would one day be associated with his name.
For over 100 years, our company has stood for quality, innovation, and trust in wound care. From the very beginning, our goal has been clear: to improve medical care and develop products that meet the highest standards and make our customers' lives safer.
Our aluderm+ brand is the result of this long experience and our commitment. The aluminum-coated wound dressings do not stick to the wound, are skin-friendly, comfortable, and versatile—in everyday life as well as in clinics and emergency services, where they have been used successfully for decades.
Our sterile aluderm+ dressings have an incredible shelf life of 20 years – quality you can rely on even after decades.
But aluderm+ is just one example of our pioneering spirit:
- We are the inventors of the legendary Sirius rescue blanket, which is still considered the standard in emergency situations today.
- Our distinctive orange first aid kits are synonymous with reliability and safety in businesses, schools, and public institutions.
- With our first aid kits and innovative products, we have been shaping first aid in Germany and Europe for decades.
In addition, we develop a wide range of special solutions – from complete first aid and child safety systems to resuscitation bags, suction pumps, vacuum mattresses, and replantation bags.
Our team is at the heart of this success. With experience, expertise, and passion, our employees develop innovative solutions that meet the high quality standards for which our name has stood for generations.
We believe that innovation never ends. That is why we continuously invest in research and development to ensure that we can continue to offer reliable product solutions in the future. For us, quality, progress, and responsibility towards the environment go hand in hand. Resource-saving manufacturing, short supply chains, and sustainable production methods are firmly anchored in our actions.
After more than 100 years, we look back with pride - and at the same time look ahead. Trust in our experience, our innovative strength, and our clear commitment to quality Made in Germany.
Quality, sustainability, and short distances
Responsible action
We are aware of our responsibility to combine economic efficiency with ecological and social principles. That is why we focus on quality, environmental awareness, and regional responsibility.
Most of our dressings are produced at our own site. This guarantees the highest quality standards and brings clear advantages: short supply chains ensure fast and reliable availability, reduce transport distances, and thus actively protect the environment. At the same time, local production strengthens the domestic economy and creates local jobs.
For us, sustainability is more than just a buzzword – from resource-saving manufacturing to innovative production methods, we consistently ensure that we treat nature and resources responsibly. Modern facilities, optimized processes, and the use of environmentally friendly materials help us to reduce emissions and avoid waste.
The fact that we are on the right track with this approach is also confirmed by the EcoVadis Committed Badge award. EcoVadis is the world's leading platform for sustainability assessments and evaluates companies in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. W.SÖHNGEN GmbH has successfully passed this independent assessment and achieved a good rating – a visible sign of our continuous efforts and progress in the area of sustainability.
Our decision to manufacture in Germany is therefore not only a locational advantage, but also a clear commitment to quality, sustainability, and regional value creation. In this way, we combine tradition with progress – offering products that meet the highest standards and are manufactured with responsibility and respect for our environment.
